Wishing you all a very very Happy New Year 2017. Starting this new year with a dessert and that too a quick and easy one....
Ingredients
Milk: 1.5 liters
Payasam Rice/Unangalari: 1/4 Cup
Sugar: 1 Cup
Ghee: 1 Tea Spoon
Cardamom Powder: 1/4 Tea Spoon
Cashewnuts : Few
Raisins: Few
Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
Method
Wash and drain off the water from the rice and keep side
To a pressure cooker (I used a 5 liter cooker) pour milk and let it boil well
Once it boil reduce the flame to low
Add washed rice
Then sugar
And cardamom powder
Give it a good stir and close the lid and cook in low flame for 30 minutes and switch off the flame
Let all the pressure settle and open the cooker
Your payasam is ready
Fry cashew nuts and raisins in ghee and add it
Serve warm or cold as per your wish
Note:
Do not fill the pressure cooker more than half
I did not have unangalari. So i used basmati rice
Increase or decrease the sugar as per your taste buds
